Thomas is good friends with David Long, the owner of David Arthur Vineyards. A few years ago in Napa he helped out during their harvest. "It was an amazing day," says Thomas, “David put us to work in the morning and by lunchtime he had these beautiful slow cooked ribs and vegetables off the grill and plenty of Meritaggio and 1147 for all the workers."
Elevation 1147 is 1,147 feet above the valley floor of Oakville, where the best of the best make their Napa cabernet. The 1997 vintage had a Wine Spectator rating of 99, shocking everyone with its exceptional fruit forward style and incredibly long finish. Thomas brought a group of collectors to the vineyard last year for a rare dinner and tasting at the winery where David Long showed off the new vintages right out of the barrel. The winery and views are some of the best in the entire valley!
