Butirskiy Introduces Mixed Media Originals |
||
Inspired by the black and white renderings of Rembrandt and Raphael but with a twist, Butirskiy has developed a new medium using modern day materials. Taking a blank canvas, he treats the surface with an acrylic primer and then starts sketching the basic composition using charcoal pencils. Once the foundation has been created, he adds layer upon layer of detail, mixing light and dark areas of the canvas only as Butirskiy can. His final step is to add a wash of linseed oil, oil based varnish and raw umber to create a masterpiece of timeless, classic beauty. No glass is required on these canvas paintings.
