“A Proud Past” Multifaceted Victorian homes in Chicago evoke the European eclecticism of the late nineteenth century. We see many colors, designs and materials: roof brackets under eaves and over doors and windows, patterned roofing and picket railings, projecting bays, multicolored double-hung sashes, corner boards, sill boards, etc. I love the sense of pride that is expressed in these unexpected combinations of styles and diverse details. |
