“Evening Glow” In this painting, as in “Winter Silence” and “Evening Lights,” each is a view from the rooftop of an adjacent building. It's as if I had jumped from roof to roof and painted the building I just left! It's great fun to show these connected vistas, like parts of an architectural maze. The roofs are complex structures, with prominent towers and anachronistic chimneys. People still live in attics such as that shown here; imagine the stunning view they have from the darkened windows. |
