“Night in White Satin” Sretensky Street in Moscow is complimented by this domed building, which we see bathed in warm and wondrous light. This area was developed as an apartment complex by a turn of the century investment company, Strachovoje Obschestvo Rossiya (Insurance Association Russia), prior to the Russian Revolution. It has been a favorite residence area for artists, but today only the most well off dare consider the multi-million dollar prices. Those who cannot afford to live there still can paint it!
